"Welcome to Zanarkand" featured on OCRemix.

Somewhere out there, on the truest, purest, most serendipitous timeline of all, this mix is titled "They're Taking the Hobbits to Zanarkand!!!" You know it, I know it, the hobbits know it, and while the ever-entertaining & talented Pixel Pirates may haved dropped the palantir, we can take solace in the profound certainty that our multiverse brothers & sisters are living their best lives for us. PP deliver some more catchy & well-produced EDM as they dress up the iconic FFX "At Zanarkand" in towering supersaw walls of euphoric eurodance oscillators. No artist comments, but the panel was unanimous, as MindWanderer leads us off:

"This is some toe-tapping house-style riffing for sure. Tons of fun. Not the chiptune I expected from the title, but I guess it's a reference to your musician name instead."

DarkSim adds:

"For an example of the Eurodance genre, this is pretty much bang on. I'm getting serious Basshunter vibes when that pluck augments the supersaw at 0:50. Instrumentation is well-chosen, and the arrangement is surprisingly good as well, allowing the listener a decent break midway through to recover from those huge synths.
Mixing is good, production is solid, and although the kick could be punchier, it's about the only drawback to an otherwise perfect example of the genre."

Chimpazilla also chimed in, and this specific comment stood out for me:

"The arrangement has some similar sounding sections, especially because that saw lead plays for so much of the arrangement, but there is always at least one unique element playing some little countermelody or variation on the source writing that keeps it fresh."

What she said; this feels a bit more like "staple genre" work than PP's previous mix, but there ain't nothin' wrong with that, especially when due diligence is paid to layering in some variation & keeping things moving, as Kris appreciates above. Maybe you're in Pixeland, and maybe you deserve to be welcomed, I don't know, I can't say, but I'm going to mentally be taking the hobbits to Zanarkand whenever I hear this mix, and I think you should too. More fun stuff from Pixel Pirates - enjoy!
